I am a big fan of volume dials, giving you easy control over your volume, and this is one of the reasons why I returned the Sound BlasterX G6in favour of my FiiO K5 Pro, because of the big knob. Just like the X3, this has a nice large easy to access volume dial that you can press to mute. Again, if using via USB this will integrate with the system volume. Orange is Direct Mode (pictured), which disables all audio effects in favour of direct sound from the game or music. Overall, the sound quality is excellent. It is superior to the onboard audio of my MSI MEG motherboard, and I would say the performance is comparable to FIIO that I have been using the past few months. I know, it's unbelievable that the little ‘dongle' above can give you sound as good as a 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround System (Dolby Atmos 5.1.2) but it absolutely does! Creative's new Super X-Fi audio tech is FRIGGING MIND -BLOWING. The company known for Soundblaster finally has a new killer product, and you'll probably want one too. Opening the box, we see the X4 DAC AMP itself wrapped in a plastic cover, this cover is designed to be removed in an apple-esque one-piece design. Disappointingly though, the X45 was sat in a plastic clamshell. Another piece of plastic destined for the landfill! We’d really like to see this become card in the future!
