Penny Slinger was born in London in 1947, and studied at Chelsea School of Art in the late 60s. Declining an offer to undertake a master’s degree at the Royal College of Art, she chose instead to launch her artistic practice. Her work was included in a group exhibition at London’s renowned Institute of Contemporary Art in 1969. Slinger published a book of her photographic collages in 1971 and Rolling Stone magazine compared its importance to that of The Beatles. Slinger developed her theories and practice around ideas of surrealism and its relationship to feminism. In tandem with exhibiting at London museums and galleries, she worked closely with the worlds of theater and film, consistently publishing books of her visual work and poetry.

The Never Summer Funslinger is an asymmetrical twin, which means it won’t slide down a wall and, for this board at least, that the sidecut on the heel edge is deeper than the sidecut on the toe edge (while everything else remains all symmetrical and twinned out). Why? Apparently it’s supposed to help you achieve a better heelside carve. Which, I’ll admit, I can feel for sure. Really good on a jib. I'm not the world's best jibber, I'll be the first to admit, but I felt comfortable on this board on jibs. Butters
For it's flex, you can get a decent carve out of this board. There's a good amount of camber there - so that really helps in this respect. The Funslinger is best suited to those who like to spend most of their time in the park but also wants something that will carve pretty well when they feel the need.
The Whissile

Not going to carve like a stiffer, directional board but as far as freestyle boards go it’s one of the better ones. It has probably the shortest tail and nose I’ve seen on a board and that’s not good for powder and it’s also centered and true twin. You can get away with it in shallow powder but for anything deep, you’ll be putting in a lot of effort to keep this thing above the snow. Carving & Turning She admits that while the guitar wasn’t initially an interest of hers, it was nonetheless an inescapable part of her childhood.
